Training of Trainers (ToT) course for Integrated Management of Adolescent and Adult Illness (IMAI)

WHO in collaboration with the Uganda HIV Knowledge Hub is holding an International Training of Trainers (ToT) course for Integrated Management of Adolescent and Adult Illness (IMAI), the HIV capacity building approach of the WHO. The specific objectives of the ToT are:
1. Provide a thorough introduction to the WHO IMAI/IMCI integrated toolkit (including IMAI simplified guidelines and training material, district HIV management support, new harmonized short courses including TB-HIV co-management and integrated PMTCT, clinical mentoring, drug supply management, and patient monitoring) and new community tools.
2. Develop participant skills needed to organize and implement IMAI - based clinical and management training and follow-up after training in their country and/or organization, and to provide an opportunity for trainers to practice skills in a real-life training situation.
3. Explore participants' involvement in IMAI roll-out in their countries and/or as part of their respective organizations, and expand the technical resource network of IMAI trainers able contribute to the implementation of the IMAI technical package in the national scale up plan and to coordinate this with training of community-based practitioners.
4. Contribute to planning country adaptation of the IMAI/IMCI toolkit. Share country experiences to date with regard to national adaptation, country rollout, and use of IMAI/IMCI strategy and toolkits.
The ToT course will be conducted in English and detailed information on this course including logistics will be provided on request.
