APHRC Vacancies

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), a re-
gional non-profit organisation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya,
is looking for accomplished scholars (Senior Researcher Scien-
tists/Research Scientists) in the following fields to join its
team of multi-disciplinary researchers based at its headquarters
in Nairobi:

1. Epidemiologist/Public or Community Health Specialist (re-
quires MD)

2. Education Specialist (Planning and policy or Economics of
education)

3. Policy Analyst, Poverty Expert, Qualitative Expert, or Urban
Expert (2 positions)

Each of these positions require a PhD in a relevant field with
strong and sustained record of scholarly publications and at
least five years of productive postdoctoral research or teaching
experience. Promising junior scholars with the requisite aca-
demic training may be considered for this position.

The position of an epidemiologist or Public/Community Health
Specialist requires an MD degree and PhD in epidemiology or pub-
lic/community health and may be filled at a lower level of ex-
perience or at the postdoctoral level.

For all positions, preference will be given to nationals of sub-
Saharan African countries. Females and French-speaking candi-
dates are especially encouraged to apply. Applications received
by October 15, 2005 will be given full consideration. However,
