-------------------------------
Dear E-druggers
In 1970, WHO published a Technical Report of a WHO Study Group on clinical pharmacology, describing its scope, organization and training requirements. The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Working Group has prepared an updated version entitled "Clinical Pharmacology in Research, Teaching and Health Care", now published in in the Journal Basic and Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology (107, 531-559, 2010) and available at:

The Expert Committee for the Selection and Use of Essential Medicines will review this document at the 18th Expert Committee Meeting in early 2011 to consider whether it can be endorsed for inclusion as an annex in the official report of the WHO Expert Committee 2011.
The WHO Secretariat for the Expert Committee for the Selection and Use of Essential invite interested parties to submit comments on the current version, with the aim of making the final document as globally relevant and applicable as possible. Comments should be submitted to emlsecretariat@who.int no later than 10th September 2010. A final version will be posted on the website in November as an agenda paper for consideration by the Expert Committee at the meeting in 2011.
