E-DRUG: Destruction of expired drugs (2)
Friends,
Rwanda does not (yet) have a system for destuction of expired drugs. The
Ministry of Health/Medical Stores is looking for documentation about how to
destroy pharmaceuticals in a ecological sense of responsability.
If anyone knows of practical and affordable guidelines (french/english)
please send me a direct email.
COULD ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IN THIS REGARD KINDLY MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO
THE REST OF US? IN UGANDA STOCK PILES OF EXPIRED DRUGS CAN BE FOUND IN MOST
HEALTH FACILITIES AND SUPPLY CHANNELS SUCH AS OURS

--- note from the E-drug moderator:
Please try to avoid CAPITAL letters in messages as it is equivalent
to electronic shouting!
Could anyone post a review to the E-drug list about safe and affordable
procedures to be followed in the destruction of medicines? In some
countries there are also legal stumbling blocks as it is difficult to
destroy government property (even though it is useless or dangerous!).
I will ask WHO for their position.
