I have a friend whose husband died recently. She has a medicine cabinet full
of unexpired drugs, and a bunch of unused syringes, that are worth thousands
of dollars wholesale. Do you know of any established legal means of getting
these products to people who could use them but cannot afford them?
[The WHO Guidelines on drug donations addresses this issue. The simple
answer is take the drugs back to the pharmacy where they can be responsible
for destroying the drugs. While it appears heartless to do this donating
the drugs may be worse than doing nothing at all! Richard Laing Co-Moderator]
