E-DRUG: donations guidelines for medical supplies?

Re: E-DRUG: donations guidelines for medical supplies?
-----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Rob Verhage,

WHO/EDM (former DAP) has done an evaluation study of the (impact)
of the guidelines. In the report there will also be an overview
of the countries that have adopted, in some form, parts of the
inter-agency guidelines for drug donations. Soon this document
will be published on the Internet (on the WHO pages).

Quite a few <so called> recipient countries have adopted in some
form these guidelines. In Africa I know that for example
countries like Tanzania, Mali, Madagascar, Niger, Zimbabawe have
done something with the guidelines on governmental level. This
varies from solely distribution of the guidelines to official
government publications. The challenge is here to effectively
monitor if guidelines are followed!

Please also visit http://www/drugdonations.org for more
information on guidelines for drug donations and medical
equipment donations. In the news section of the English part of
this site I will inform the site-visitors when the evaluation
study will be online at the WHO Internet sites. Maybe Hans
Hogerzeil from EDM can post the list of countries on e-drug?

Best greetings,
Mark
