[e-drug] Invitation to subscribe to CGD e-newsletter: "Drug Resistance and Global Health Update"

E-DRUG: Invitation to subscribe to CGD e-newsletter: "Drug Resistance and Global Health Update"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Colleagues:

Would you like to subscribe to the Center for Global Development's new monthly Drug Resistance and Global Health Update? This free e-newsletter, highlighting the emerging analytic work and recommendations from the CGD's recently-created Drug Resistance Working Group (WG), will point readers toward relevant drug resistance research and policy news, and provide a forum for opinion pieces on questions such as the relationship between drug resistance and intellectual property regimes; the role of donor agencies in addressing drug resistance; and options for financing investments in improved surveillance systems. The CGD sees this initiative as a natural successor to CGD's earlier work around Advance Market Commitments for vaccines, impact evaluation, and other health policy and financing priorities, and feels it has the potential for the same degree of success.

With this e-newsletter, the WG hopes to spark a broad, informed conversation about an issue in global health that is of importance to many--from those who are involved in promoting, funding or implementing the scale-up of treatment for malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, acute respiratory disease and other ailments; to individuals interested in the strengthening of health systems and regulatory bodies; to those whose work involves the development of new diagnostics and drugs. We encourage you to check out the first issue coming out this week--and to contribute your ideas for content as we go along.
