[e-drug] Measuring quality of pharmacy care in Sierra Leone?

E-DRUG: Measuring quality of pharmacy care in Sierra Leone?
-----------------------------------------------------------

Hi e-druggers,

This is like a quick brainstorming! I am doing a research on Regulatory
oversight and the quality of community pharmacy services in Sierra Leone
(developing country and resource poor settings). There are no written and
documented standards for the quality of pharmacy services in that country
yet,
although pre-requisites for the accreditation of pharmacy premises do exist.

FIP recommends some guidelines (also endorsed by WHO) that could be adapted
by
different countries to their national context.

"Quality in health care" is a difficult concept that has been defined from
several perspectives. My dilemma relates to how one could define the quality
of
pharmacy services in the context of the proposed study and in such a way
that
one could develop indicators that could be used to measure quality.

Could e-druggers comment please?

[Hi Moses, maye the indicators page in the WHO/EDM website is a starting
point? See
