E-drug: Pharmacist's Assistants in Health Centres
---------------------------------------------
Pharmacist's Assistants in Health Centres
Dear E-druggers,
The National Pharmaceuticals Taskforce (NPT) in Tajikistan asks
for your help.
In the framework of the health reform in Tajikistan, PHC-facilities
are going to be set up, namely Medical Houses (with nurses, midwifes)
and Rural and Urban Health Centres (which additional family doctors
and pharmacist's assistants).
The NPT is now developing the job description for the pharmaceutical
personnel (Pharmacists assistants), who will be working in the rural
and urban health centres. We would much appreciate, if you could
provide us with information on similar posts in your country, or even
have a sample of a respective job prescription. As job descriptions
are related to the existing drug supply system in a country, we are
interested in some additional questions:
1. Are their pharmacies within the rural and urban health centres in
your country?
2. If yes, who is in charge of the pharmacy? (pharmacists,
pharmacist's assistant, pharmacy technician, nurses etc)
3. If pharmaceutical personnel are in charge, how they are trained
(duration of education)?
4. Who employs and supervises the pharmaceutical personnel of the
health centres?
5. Are drugs provided only through public channels or does the
pharmaceutical personnel carry out drug procurement directly from
whole sellers?
6. Does the pharmaceutical personnel in the health centre dispense
narcotic and/or psychotropic drugs?
7. Does the pharmaceutical personnel sell drugs without prescription?
It will also help us, when you can answer part of the questions!
Best regards,
Hella
