E-drug: Re: Policy process on re-evaluation of drugs (cont'd)

When Canada changed its drug approval regulations in 1962 to include
information about efficacy, it never mandated reassessment of existing
products and as a consequence this activity was never undertaken. The
number of pre 1962 drugs still on the Canadian market that have never been
assessed for efficacy is not known, but I would guess that it would number
around 50.
