TECHNICAL OFFICER (P/L-4 level)
For UNICEF's Supply Division, Copenhagen, Denmark
The United Nations Children's Fund, headquartered in New York, works in 162
countries, areas and territories on solutions to the problems afflicting
children, and on ways to realise their rights to survival, protection and
development.
If you are a committed professional and have the drive and ability to work
towards building a better world for children, the world's leading

The successful applicant will be responsible for the establishment of
technical specifications, standards and guidelines for Pharmaceutical
products requisitioned by UNICEF programmes or by specialized UN agencies,
governments and non-governmental organizations.
This includes:
* Reviewing and developing technical supply specifications and requirements
to ensure appropriateness and completeness.
* Advises on technical matters related to Pharmaceuticals and clarifies
inadequate specifications, proposing substitute or alternative items, as
appropriate.
* Collaborates with counterparts in promotion and improvements in use,
availability and appropriateness of products.
* Conducts market research, provides analyses, background information and
recommendations for improving the suitability of a range of products within
specialized area.
* Researches, evaluates and promotes new products and promotes development
of new technologies when appropriate.
* Prescribes inspection criteria for commodities within specialized
knowledge, assesses manufacturers' quality control facility and capacity.

Your Profile
* Advanced university degree in Pharmacy or related discipline.
* Minimum of eight years of relevant professional work experience in the
area of Pharmaceuticals.
* Knowledge of worldwide sources, suppliers and markets.
* Proven ability to conceptualise, plan and execute ideas as well as
transfer knowledge and skills.
* Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in both written and oral
form.
* Experience in an electronic environment using standard software packages
is required
* Good interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work both independently and in a team.
* Fluency in English and either French or Spanish.
