The International HIV/AIDS Alliance supports community action on AIDS in developing countries. We are currently recruiting a Senior Technical Advisor: Clinical Care based at our secretariat in Brighton, UK.

Senior Technical Advisor: Clinical Care (Ref: TS/107)

Starting Salary £39,000 - £41,000 (inc. market premium) plus excellent benefits package

UK based (Brighton) includes overseas travel

The aim of this post is to build the capacity of the Alliance and its partners in clinical care relating to HIV/STI prevention and AIDS care and ARV treatment provision. Responsibilities will include: providing specific technical support to Alliance programmes and partners; synthesising lessons and developing practical resources for use by targeted audiences; researching and documenting practical experiences and lessons learned and promoting good practice.

The post requires a highly qualified professional individual with a medical, nursing or pharmacy degree. Applicants need to have clinical experience in resource constrained settings although this experience does not need to be HIV/AIDS specific. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS clinical care, ARV treatment and support in any setting is however essential. Applicants with experience in programmes for prevention of mother to child HIV transmission or ARV treatment in children, and those with strong French or Russian language skills are encouraged to apply. S/he must have good project management skills, strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise complex concepts and communicate them in an accessible way. Strong oral and written communication skills in English are therefore essential.
