Quality Assurance Pharmaceutical Specialist
Washington, DC
Chemonics International seeks a quality assurance HIV/AIDS drug specialist
for a long-term position on a USAID-funded supply chain management project
providing anti-retroviral pharmaceuticals to 15 countries, mostly in Africa.
Based in Washington, DC, the quality assurance specialist will be
responsible for managing a team of experts and providing technical
assistance to targeted countries.
Qualifications:
--Pharmacy, MD, or related health degree
--10 years of experience in quality assurance of procured goods
--5 years of experience in quality control of anti-retrovirals and
medications for opportunistic infections, tuberculosis, and/or sexually
transmitted diseases
--Experience with testing and verification of drugs and supplies to ensure
adherence to specifications
--Knowledge of US government approval process, documentation, labeling, and
regulatory issues
--Ability to establish quality assurance procedures to ensure storage and
handling standards are met
--Experience monitoring subcontractors and vendors to ensure
shipping/storage standards and procedures are met
--Prior work with international pharmaceutical projects funded by USAID,
Global Fund, WHO, World Bank, CDC, or others preferred
--Capacity and willingness to travel extensively to targeted project areas

Logistics Specialist
Washington, DC
Chemonics International seeks a logistics specialist for a long-term
position on a USAID-funded supply chain management project providing
anti-retroviral pharmaceuticals to 15 countries, mostly in Africa. Based in
Washington, DC, the specialist will be responsible for logistics related to
the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Qualifications:
--10 years of experience in supply chain management of procured goods
--Experience managing pharmaceutical supply logistics in Africa
--Ability to arrange and track timely, secure, and cost-effective shipment
of pharmaceutical goods internationally and within countries
--Experience generating documents needed for importation of products and
coordinating with U.S. embassies and host-country governments to obtain
export-import licenses
--Ability to work with suppliers and recipients to verify the count and
acceptability of received products
--Ability to monitor and audit freight-forwarding practices, warehouse
inventories, chain of custody, and traceability of pharmaceutical products
--Experience identifying delivery problems and developing timely,
cost-effective solutions
--Ability to oversee the return, replacement, or disposition of items
--Capacity and willingness to travel to targeted project areas

HIV/AIDS Specialist
Washington, DC
Chemonics International seeks an HIV/AIDS specialist to provide technical
assistance and advisory services on HIV/AIDS issues. Responsibilities
include advising targeted countries on storage, distribution, and quality
control of anti-retrovirals and other healthcare commodities needed for
HIV/AIDS treatment and care. The specialist will work with international
pharmaceutical manufacturers and travel to targeted countries to anticipate
difficulties that could result in the interruption of critically-needed
medicines and other supplies.
Qualifications:
--Extensive experience in HIV/AIDS program design, implementation and/or
management
--Familiarity with the range of HIV/AIDS programs in the developing world,
with a focus on Africa
--Working knowledge of relationships between HIV/AIDS and STIs, TB, and
other opportunistic infections
