African Health Sectors and Management of Health Services (4)
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Carline Dorcena
Thank you for your reply of 23 Nov on your company's study of
African health services, explaining that it is a nine month
rather than one month study - much more feasible. The method is
still not completely clear - what is meant by "personal out-
reach" as a survey method? What is the balance of qualitative
and quantitative information you are aiming at?
The criterion of "improving the health status of their coun-
tries" is fine but can be measured in many ways. Managers in
the non-profit sector and private health technology companies
are likely to have different criteria of successful improvement
in health status. I am concerned as to the purpose for which
information is going to be used, and I imagine others may be
too.
Your findings from the review of international investments in
health care could be useful to many health planners and manag-
ers - will they be publicly available?
Yours sincerely,
Nicola Ruck
