We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Vice President, Technical Support (Arlington, VA)
Provides technical leadership and oversight for the technical strategies and activities of FHI's Public Health Programs. Manages the Technical Support Department. Works closely and coordinates with the Vice President, Program Management for Public Health Programs and other senior FHI staff in Research. MD or PhD, with public health degree or equivalent experience in public health and 11-13 years of professional experience; or Master's degree in relevant discipline and 13-15 years of professional health experience. Experience includes seven years specialized experience in HIV/AIDS and/or infectious diseases programs in developing country settings plus 8 years management experience in public health programs. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
Country Director, Nigeria (Abuja, Nigeria)
Provides leadership and management oversight for all FHI's portfolio of projects for Nigeria; Oversees operations and, as the primary FHI country representative, ensures strong collaboration between FHI and local government, donors and sponsors. Represents FHI to external donors/sponsors and leads FHI business and resource development efforts in country. Also serves as Project Director or Chief of Party (COP) on the GHAIN project. PhD/MD and 9-11 years relevant experience with international development programs; or MS/MA and 11-13 years relevant experience with international development programs; or BS/BA and 13-15 years relevant experience with international development programs. Experience must include 7-9 years of supervisory experience. Overseas field experience required.
Deputy Director, Program Support (Abuja, Nigeria)
Manages the DFID supported SNR Program functions and deputizes for the Country/Project Director. In this position ensures that FHI/SNR Program goals/results are achieved and that project resources are utilized in accordance with applicable FHI and donor policies and procedures. Responsible for subprojects monitoring to ensure financial, administrative and program quality assurance. Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Director. BS/BA and 9-11 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience; or MS/MA in public health or related field and 7-9 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience; or PhD/MD or equivalent degree and 5-7 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Overseas field experience required. Local applicant preferred.
Project Director, UJANA (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania)
As the Project Director, coordinate FHI's Tanzania research and research utilization activities, working with FHI/North Carolina, the Africa Regional Office, and in-country research colleagues. Serve as the Tanzania research focal point and support and advance FHI's research activities in country. Work with FHI Research domain to develop a prioritized research agenda. Serve as a point person for Project. As the Deputy Country Director, provides strong management leadership and operational oversight. Work with Country Director to develop and monitor the country-level strategic plan in support of FHI's global strategic plan. Supervise Program Manager and performs other duties assigned by the Country Director. BS/BA and 9-11 years relevant experience managing large, multi-year programs in HIV prevention, youth or reproductive health; or MS/MA and 7-9 years relevant experience; or PhD/MD or equivalent degree and 5-7 years relevant experience. At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience is required; Overseas field experience required. This position is based in Dar es Salaam, but will require travel to regions where FHI has project activities.
Director, Research, APRO (Bangkok, Thailand)
As a member of FHI's Global Research Group, provides technical and managerial leadership as well as oversight to research activities in the APRO and ensures that the regional research plan matches the strategic and technical guidance of the FHI Global Research Group. Leads APRO efforts in building research management and technical capacity of its staff and partners. Together with the Director, Public Health Programs, APRO and Senior Director, Global Operations, APRO develops a research agenda that supports utilization of research findings and manages a resource development plan to support the research program. MD/PhD in relevant field and 10 years of relevant experience that includes 5 years research supervisory experience.
