Dear colleagues,
While arguing for the implementation of the Guidelines for Drug
Donations we sometimes get queries about how to destroy drugs that
have passed their expiry date.
It seems too simplistic to just advise to burn it.
We would like to know whether there are any international guidelines or
protocols for this. Can anybody give us names of experts or reference books that we could refer to.
Thank you very much,
Bas van der Heide.

Note from the moderator on this message:
In Netherlands drugs are considered chemical waste when they are
returned to a pharmacy; however, if the same drugs are in private hands,
it is NOT considered chemical waste, and they may be put in the WC or
waste basket.
