E-drug: WHO Press Release on Good Drug Donations (cont)
---------------------------------------------
I agree with James Russo that it is important to collect and share
information about inappropriate drug donations, some of which have been
very well documented in the past. We also need to acknowledge that for the
recipient it is sometimes very difficult to openly criticise drug
donations. I remember a case of inappropriate drug donation in a Eastern
European country which could not be reported because the health officials
were strongly warned against doing so by the ambassador of the donating
country.

It would help to have a clearing house for inappropriate drug donations and
it is encouraging that WHO is asking to report inappropriate drug
donations. I understand that WHO has a reporting system for
inappropriate drug donations at barriers at borders.
